The Dedicated Specific Mechanism for indigenous peoples and local communities (MDE Saweto Peru: Memoria Viva), is an initiative of the Forest Investment Fund (FIP), financed by the World Bank and aimed at solving essential problems of the Amazonian indigenous agenda, such as: legal physical sanitation to provide legal security to the territories; community forest management, through economic ventures; and indigenous governance, through communal living plans.



  • The DSM is a pilot project in 8 countries. Peru is one of them.
  • It has general guidelines for its operation.
  • The World Bank administers the funds, which means complying with policies
